EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) is the idea that everyone should be treated fairly when they are considered for employment decisions including hiring, promotion, termination, compensation, etc. This means that anyone competing for a position at a company should have the same chance of succeeding if they are the right person for the job.

EEO does not guarantee that people of underrepresented groups will get hired, the purpose of EEO regulations is to make sure nobody will face rejection/difficulties because they are in a protected group.
